Do you ever feel like the financial world is speaking a language designed to keep you out? Have you ever looked at your family, your business, or your hard-earned savings and wondered, "Who is actually watching over this for me?"

If you’ve been searching for a financial partner who understands the high-stakes world of corporate finance but still treats you like a neighbor, I’m glad you’re here. My name is Alex Stefanic, and I’ve spent my career bridging the gap between elite financial strategies and the real-world needs of families and business owners.

Whether you’re in the DMV, the Carolinas, or New England, my goal is to help you build and protect your "kingdom": whatever that looks like for you.

From the Boardroom to Your Living Room: A Different Kind of Expertise

Many advisors start in sales. I started in the numbers: the big numbers.

My path to becoming a financial planner wasn't typical. I earned my Bachelor’s in Accounting from Clemson University and followed it up with an MBA in Finance from the University of Maryland. Before I began working one-on-one with families, I spent years in the trenches of Big 4 accounting and corporate finance for Fortune 10 companies.

Why does that matter for your retirement plan or your business's insurance?

It means I’ve seen how the world’s largest, most successful organizations manage risk, optimize taxes, and plan for the long term. I’ve handled the complex strategies that keep multi-billion dollar "kingdoms" secure. Today, I take that same high-level rigor and apply it to your personal financial goals. You get the benefit of "Big 4" thinking without the cold, corporate jargon.

Professional Corporate Expertise

The "Client-as-Family" Philosophy

While my background is rooted in elite finance, my heart is rooted in family. I’ve always believed that financial planning shouldn't feel like an institutional transaction. It should feel like a partnership.

When you work with me, I treat your goals as if they were my own. I call it the "client-as-family" approach. It’s built on three simple pillars:

  • Transparency: No hidden agendas or confusing fees. Just "real talk" about where you stand.

  • Integrity: I’m not here to sell products; I’m here to provide solutions that actually fit your life.

  • Listening: Before we look at a single spreadsheet, I want to hear your story. What keeps you up at night? What are you building for your kids?

My passion for this work actually began with my own experience as a client. I realized then that informed financial decisions create opportunities that go way beyond just "saving for retirement." They create peace of mind.

Backed by a Century of Strength: Mutual of Omaha

Trust is the most valuable currency in financial planning. That’s why I chose to align my practice with Mutual of Omaha.

As a mutual company, they aren't beholden to Wall Street shareholders or quarterly stock reports. They are owned by their policyholders. For over 100 years, they’ve focused on a singular commitment to the people they protect. This backing allows me to offer you the stability of a historic institution while maintaining the personalized, boutique service of a local advisor.

Protecting the Kingdom

Who I Serve: Protecting What Matters Most

I’ve designed my practice to support the people who are the backbone of our communities. My primary focus is helping four specific groups across Virginia, Maryland, the Carolinas, and New England:

  1. Young Families: You’re building your life. I help you protect your family and property against the unexpected, ensuring that your "kingdom" stays secure no matter what happens.

  2. Professionals Planning for the Long Haul: You’ve worked hard for your career. We create strategies so you don’t run out of money in retirement while still maintaining the lifestyle you’ve earned.

  3. Individuals Nearing Retirement: If you're concerned about the rising costs of healthcare and long-term care, we can build a shield to protect your assets from these common late-life financial drains.

  4. Small Business Owners: Your business is your life’s work. I help you protect that legacy for your family and your employees through tailored Small Business Solutions.

Your Roadmap to Clarity and Confidence

Starting a financial plan can feel overwhelming, so I’ve simplified the journey into three clear steps:

  1. The Conversation: Our first chat is about you. We’ll talk about your history, your goals, and see if we’re a good fit.

  2. The Strategy: I’ll take your feedback and my corporate experience to build recommendations that make sense for your specific situation.

  3. The Partnership: Once we set out, we stay together. Life changes, and we’ll adjust your course as necessary to keep you on track.

Intergenerational Planning

Beyond the Numbers: Life in Midlothian

I’m a firm believer that we should work to live, not live to work. When I’m not analyzing market trends or meeting with clients at my Glen Allen office, you’ll likely find me on the golf course or the tennis court. I’ve also caught the pickleball bug recently!

I love cooking, discovering new music, and: most importantly: spending time with my young daughter. I know firsthand the joy (and the responsibility) of wanting the best for your child, and that personal perspective is exactly what I bring to the table when we talk about your family's future.

A Balanced Life

Let’s Take the First Step Together

Financial decisions shape your future, and my goal is to help you make them with total confidence. You don’t have to navigate this alone.

Are you ready to create a strategy that reflects your goals and protects what matters most? Whether you need to discuss Life Insurance, Retirement Planning, or just want a second set of eyes on your current path, I’m here to help.

Let’s connect and start building your legacy today.
